Grace and Sam must fight to be together. For Grace, this means defying her parents and keeping dangerous secrets. For Sam, it means grappling with his werewolf past …and figuring out a way to survive the future.
But just when they manage to find happiness, Grace finds herself changing in ways she could never have expected…
I enjoyed Linger a lot more than Shiver, the first in The Wolves of Mercy Falls series. Everything, in general, was better and I didn’t feel at all awkward about Sam and Grace. Also, Cole was a new character, and he was brilliant. To be honest, all of the characters in this book are brilliant. I loved Sam a lot, and he is such a sweetheart in this book. Grace is also a great character, although some of her decisions about her parents annoyed me sometimes. Cole and Isabel were just perfect. Getting to know Cole was fun, and I liked seeing more of Isabel in this book.
The actual story in this book was very good too. There was a good mix of story and romance, which meant that there were plenty of cute Sam/Grace moments but also plenty of things being discovered. For example, new things are discovered about werewolves and the way they work, and that was very interesting. The ending was both amazing and heartbreaking. I suddenly hadn’t expected that to happen.
The other part of this series that I like is the music side of things. It’s amazing how Maggie Stiefvater writes music in her books so that you can almost hear it. Overall, it was a great second book in the series and I’m excited to read Forever, the final book.
