Cover Love: Elegy

Cover Love

I’ve decided to turn this into a weekly thing, so this week’s cover is Elegy by Amanda Hocking. Elegy is the fourth and final book in the Watersong series. My review of Elegy can be found here.

This is the UK cover of Elegy.

I love this cover so much. The title is really pretty and it really stands out on the background, and it’s just so swirly. And the actual cover art is really nice. I’m going to guess that it’s meant to be Gemma on the cover, although she’s not ginger so it may be Thea? Anyway, it reminds me a lot of the Mara Dyer covers, which I am a big fan of. The dress is really pretty, and the way the girl is sort of drowning but also sort of floating. The colours of the whole cover are also really nice. The caption at the bottom of is really intriguing and I can’t wait to read the book.

As a comparison, this is the US cover. It’s got the same kind of vibe as the UK cover, but it’s still very different. The colours blend into each other a lot more, whereas the UK cover has one focus point. It has a very similar font for the title and it looks really good. Between the covers, it’s definitely clear that someone’s trying to stay afloat. I don’t know if it’s important (it probably isn’t), but this model/person on the cover is more of a brunette so the cover may be showing a different character. Either way, both covers make the book look very cool.

What do you guys think? Which cover do you prefer?
